Marie Cadden

Marie Cadden was winner of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature 2011 New Writing Prize for Poetry.  She is Co-Editor of Skylight 47 poetry magazine, has been nominated for the Forward Prize and placed/shortlisted for various awards, including:  Fish Poetry Prize, Bradshaw Books/Cork Literary Review Poetry Manuscript Prize, Over the Edge New Writer of the Year Award, Desmond O’Grady Poetry Prize, Francis Ledwidge Poetry Award, Westport Arts Festival Poetry Prize.  Marie’s poems have been published in a variety of anthologies and journals and in translation on a French/Irish poetry website.  She has worked as teacher of the deaf, teacher of children with autism, play therapist, arts administrator, architect’s side-kick.  Marie was born in Devon, reared in Malahide, Co. Dublin and in Cheshire. Since 1977 she has lived in Spiddal, Co. Galway.
