Ian Watson was born in Greenisland, Co. Antrim and now lives in Bremen, North-West Germany. Since the seventies, he has been writing and publishing poems, articles and reviews in anthologies and magazines in Ireland, Britain, Germany, Austria and the United States. Kurzpass-Spiel, a German-language collection of poems and micro-prose on football, was published in 2011 by Kellner, and Riverbank City – A Bremen Canvas, a volume of English-language poems about his second home, came out with Blaupause Books in 2013. Some of his poems have been translated into German by Jürgen Dierking for both print and radio performance. He has, in turn, translated Heinrich Böll, Arne Rautenberg and Hans Meier into English and poems by Harry Clifton into German.
