Creative Writing Workshops

Group & Individual Sessions

Salmon Poetry runs regular weekend creative writing workshops at the Salmon premises.  The workshops include all aspects of writing and publishing. The facilitator is Salmon's editor Jessie Lendennie, who has conducted workshops all over Ireland and the United States, for many years. Fee for the weekend is 150, plus the cost of Saturday night B&B accommodation in the lively traditional music village of Doolin (25-40, per person per night, depending on season). Numbers are limited to 7 per weekend.  Sessions will run two weekends per month.

The workshops take place from 10.30am to 4.30pm Saturday and 10.30am to 4pm Sunday; twice monthly.

More flexible individual sessions can also be booked.

Wind off the water
from the Cliffs of Moher
or sweeping down the stones,
a lunatic learning the uilleann
pipes. Turf smoulders
in the stove. Leave a knife
on the gate, the wind
will edge it keen. Set
a gray bird in the hedge --
by morning, sheer bone.
Yet a single word's ember
passed hand-to-hand
can shear winter in half
or open the hive to shake
the frost from the comb.
